Track Racing at Jerry Baker Velodrome on the 2026 OBRA Calendar

Track racing is back on the OBRA Calendar! We are thrilled to partner with the Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome in Redmond, Washington, for the 2026 track racing season, which kicks off with Friday Night Track Racing on May 1.

Supported by the non-profit Marymoor Velodrome Association, the Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome provides both seasoned track racers and the track-racing curious with opportunities to experience the exhilaration of riding a fixed gear bicycle in a car-free, supportive environment.

Designed to meet racers where they are, a wide range of programs and events provide a welcoming and fun experience for all. Whether you’re a beginning cyclist, an elite track racer or somewhere in between, there are opportunities for you to learn and develop in an atmosphere focused on safety and inclusion.

There are extensive resources on the Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome website, including:

  • A visual guide to help you choose a path for your age and level of experience
  • The 2026 Race Book, a comprehensive guide outlining types of races, entry fees, prize money and more
  • The schedule for Monday, Wednesday and Friday Night Racing, as well as special events

Here are few FAQs to help you plan a visit to JBMV!

Do I need an OBRA license to race at JBMV?

Yes! All racing at Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome is sanctioned through OBRA for the 2026 season. You can purchase a single-event or annual OBRA membership here.

You’ll also need a season membership for the Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome, which is being offered at half off to OBRA members. The cost for OBRA members is only $20 for the season.

Does track racing at Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome offer OBRA Best All-Around Rider (BAR) points?

Yes!

I’m an experienced bike racer, but have never done track. Can I sign up for a race?

Before signing up to race, you’ll need to take a track class. There are Adult classes as well as  multiple youth and Junior programs. Find the right class for your age and experience level. Once you complete a class, you’ll need to obtain a safety approval. The helpful folks at JBV will guide you through this process.

I’ve raced track before, but it’s been a while. How do I jump back in?

If you’ve raced track within the last 10 years—whether at Alpenrose Velodrome or another sanctioned track—you do not need to take the Adult Track Class, which is geared for newbies. However, you may need to take an Advanced Track Class or do a trial race to obtain your safety approval for racing.

Our cycling team is interested in a private class—is that an option?

Yes! JBMV offers private classes for adult road teams and junior cycling teams. Additionally, the folks at JBMV have offered to provide classes just for OBRA members if enough people are interested in road-tripping up to Redmond for a four-hour class. Please contact OBRA if you’re interested.

I’d love to try riding on the velodrome, but don’t have a track bike.

No problem! The Jerry Baker Memorial Velodrome has a fleet of rental bikes and their track classes include a complimentary loaner bike if needed.
